Retatrutide (often shortened to “Reta”) is an investigational triple-agonist peptide designed for weight loss and metabolic health.
It works by activating three hormone receptors:
- GLP-1 – reduces appetite, slows gastric emptying, improves blood sugar
- GIP – enhances insulin response and may improve fat metabolism
- Glucagon – increases energy expenditure and fat burning
Because it targets all three, it’s considered more aggressive than semaglutide or tirzepatide.
